• Member of the jury for exams in counterpoint, fuga, harmony and composition at the conservatoriums of Brussels and Gent (Belgium)
• Member of the jury with several music contests ( some of those contests for winds)
• lectures and guest lectures
• numerous management functions in organisations for cultural development
(of which the 'Koninklijke Nederlandse Toonkunstenaars Vereniging', the 'Genootschap van Nederlandse Componisten' are best known)
• One of the founders of some departments of ‘Jeugd en Muziek’ (Youth and Music)
• One of the founders of Gouds Symphonie Orkest
• One of the founders of Nederlandse Pianola Vereniging

Prizes:
1959 Visser Neerlandia prize (for Concertino I for piano & orchestra)
1969 Visser Neerlandia prize (for Jardin public for flute & orchestra)
1970 Willem Pijper prize (for Musica Sacra II)
1981 Culture prize from the province of Noord-Brabant (for total existence)
1991 Citizen of Honour of the city of Gouda (for musical merits to the community of Gouda)
1999 Hertog Jan prize from the province of Noord-Brabant to honour his 80th birthday
